BOTTOM LINE: The island construction project would harm—NOT help or restore Utah Lake.

Compiled by the Utah Valley Earth Forum (Utah Valley’s general environmental organization, UVEF.org) based on two sources. First are claims made by a for-profit developer that has proposed to “restore” Utah Lake while building their own huge private island-city complex in our lake. Second are “corrections” based on information from BYU, UVU and USU scientists who have direct knowledge and experience of Utah Lake. Additional information is at this website: "More than 100 scientists and experts speak out against proposed islands development for Utah Lake."

UPDATE: "unconstitutional"

The Utah Division of Forestry Fire and State Lands

reported that the plan to dredge the lake and construct a

private island city in the lake is likley unconstitutional,

illegal and would be detrimental to Utah.
