Emergency Utah Lake Symposium

This August, very concerned Utah Valley scientists, citizens, businesses and organizations (including the Utah Valley Earth Forum) joined together to support an emergency Utah Lake Symposium at Utah Valley University. Panelists at the symposium included a wide variety of stakeholders—from the Chief Executive of the Timpanogos Nation (descendants of the Native people who revered the lake and who were murdered and driven out by white settlers), to scientists who spend much of their lives studying the lake and trying to help it, to representatives of state and local government, and citizens deeply concerned about the health and well-being of the lake and its entire ecosystem. Sponsors of the symposium included UVU, BYU, the National Science Foundation, the UVEF, Conserve Utah Valley, EEI, NuSkin, RioTinto, ClydeSnow Attorneys at Law and the Utah Valley Chamber among others.
